So, I am a person of short haircuts and it really makes me mad when my parents try and pursuede me to get a longer hair cut to make me look more "feminine". I understand that I can sometimes be not the most feminine but I have heard someone's perception of femininity, and it is extremely distorted. They told me that females should wear tight, revealing clothing that fits with today's time. honestly I don't agree with this because women should dress however they want. Femininity should be solely based on expressing your inner self and not so much on projecting this false persona. Regarding to dressing in this time period, it seems that women are finding more problems in finding clothing to wear. A lot of shops, and magazines these days advertise these women in very little clothing and it is showing that wearing only a little bit of clothing will get you noticed. yes, it will get you noticed, but not in a very good way. people shouldn't be judged on how masculine or feminine they look because these styles are just social expectations. Many people do not realize that sex and gender are two separate topics and should not be viewed as the same thing. when i was a young girl, i thought they were until i learned better. Being told that i look like a guy should not be an insult either and vice versa, because one should not dress to conform to a certain topic or a gender for that matter.
Moral of the story: I will still be wearing longsleeved shirts in the summer time, because i feel comfortable, and I really dont care if i look too masculine.

PDA
PDA or Public Displays of Affection has been a very trendy thing for a while and all it does is piss me off. yes, i find it cute when i see a couple that i know or that i have been anticipating to be together, but when people are literally on top of each other, please get a room. as a teenage girl with a boyfriend, i understand that things happen and they usually end up happening in the public eye, but i personally do not like displaying my romantic life in everyone's face. my boyfriend and i are long distance and i miss him a lot, so i also find that PDA is also kind of obnoxious. i don't try to hate on people who do do PDA but i just find it frustrating, and of course, i don't go up to people and separate them from one another because i am not a giant kill joy or a prude. I just believe that relationships are a very private thing and people should keep these things to themselves, but yet i don't really hate on anyone who does this.
this is a prime example of me having a lot of free time and napping during the day

My open letter to those annoying people who yell at me while i am walking to shul
Dear obnoxious annoying people who tell at me through their car windows.
can you please give me a rational reason why you would yell at me, making dog noises or any sort of mean connotation at me? its really disrespectful and un-classy and if your mother saw what you were doing, she would probably be disappointing (that also means you, man-who-was-making-dog-noises-at-me). this is getting so unbearable to the point where i cannot walk to my own house of worship, infringing on my own rights as a person and an american. You all probably assume that i am just a crazy person walking around in nice clothes, but in fact, i walk to my synagogue, 2 and a half miles one way. Walking to shul used to be fun but now i end up having to break halacha because of how dangerous its becomming. so please, if you have, please please stop it, your morther will not be very proud to hear what you have been doing. all i want is a little cooperation...please?

Friday the 13th!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So today was friday the 13th and as a hater of scary movies, i treat it like a normal day.
Today is also Yom kippur, or the day of attonement, a jewish holiday fully focused to clean your slate for a new year. Well, this year i feel like i have sinned alot ( just like any other year) and i am so ready to clean my slate and fully get in gear for the new (jewish) year.now, here is a good list on things to improve this year!!
1: Spend less time on facebook!!!!!!!!!! i literally lose my focus due to facebook and this year i hope to really controll my facebook usage.
2: My self esteem needs improvement, and not just in personal looks but also in my work at school and in my art. i should be more proud of my work when i am just worried about how bad it might come out.
3: STUDY MORE TORAH!!!!!!!! i love studying torah and i really want to be commited and more proficeint in studying torah and gemara. i just want to improve my sprituality and help set straight things that need to be.
4: Work on more blogging and writing more. i am taking a creative writing class in school so i hope to do more creative activities to vent my feelings because i tend to give my problems to my friends and i dont want them to shoulder the burden.
5: Not worry about my weight!! because i am taking pilates in school and i walk 5 miles both ways to get to and from shul each week. i should be happy with my body and myself and i really need to be more appriciative this year.
so yeah that was my quick list
Shannah tova and gmar tov! also a tzom kal/have an easy fast

Now, here's a little update
Hey everyone!
I have been a bad person and have not posted a lot since i have started my senior year of high school. this year is going to be super stressful with finding colleges and such so i don't know how much i will be posting. But, i am taking a creative writing class...SHOUT OUT TO MRS. ROSER...so i will post some compositions from time to time from that class. i actually really enjoy it, that is probably why i really enjoy writing blogs...that and spilling my life to complete and udder strangers.
That was a little blurb about my life, i am going to write another post at length later, so watch out for a new post!!

My views of Women of the Wall
For people who don't know what WOW does, they do demonstrations at the kotel in Jerusalem to promote gender equality and to promote teffilin wearing/talit wearing on the womens side of the mechitza. I personally believe that WOW should be doing their services in Jerusalem because Israel is a universal country where alot of people from many denominations come to pray. Yes, there is Robinson's arch, the egalitarian section of the kotel, but why can't they just wrap teffilin or talitot by themselves in their own section. I understand its still going to be an issue because there are women who are also very against women wearing tallit and teffilin, but i think that giving them the option to do it should be available and should definitely not get police attention. It definitely is a religious issue but its also a predominately a political issue. because there are two chief rabbinate's in charge and the harreidim are in charge and Israel is not like america in which that there is separation of church and state. Israel was purposely created to house the Jewish people, thus giving Israel the right to arrest anyone who is disobeying the rules. at the same time, these people who are religiously in charge of Israel
, should not think of what they believe in personally but in what is good for their country (some call it a state) and how to govern such a diverse population of Jews. We have enough inner fighting as it is, sadly and it has gotten to the point where people are just super petty about it. we need to take a stand because we are one nation, a very small one.
I feel better now that all of this got out, i was getting exceedingly frustrated about this
